Check in

The conference in Braunschweig is a conference of short distances. The distance between Juniors and Senators should also not be long. For this reason, the Senator registration takes place at the same location as the general check-in for the Juniors. There is a separate VIP area for the Senators in the conference centre. There is information here, registration takes place and programme events can be booked. An exclusive shuttle service takes the conference senators to their hotels or to the event locations.

Senator hotels

Landhaus Seela, the **** Hotel is located right beside a picturesque area with ponds and woods. Shuttle time into the town centre is approx. 10 Minutes.

Lounge

An perfectly located lounge has been organised for the Senators. It offers the Senators an opportunity to retreat during the conference at daytime. It is easily reachable on foot from the congress centre and/or the city centre hotels. In the evenings a Senator Lounge will be situated near the party locations.

Programme events in the region

The conference participants will be shown the region. We offer a great deal on the topic of mobility - a theme which characterises our region.

Full steam ahead through the mountains

There is an exclusive outing with a steam train from Wernigerode up to the highest mountain in the region - the Brocken. We kick off with a trip to Saxony-Anhalt and the beautiful town of Wernigerode with a visit to the Hasseröder brewery. Then we board the Harz narrow-gauge railway train. On this journey through the Harz, plenty is offered to fascinate and entertain the participants.

We feel our way from cars to top class cuisine

In the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, the participants can gain an exclusive insight into the world of automobiles. Our region is characterised by automotive engineering. We will show our visitors this with lots of fun and entertainment as well as interesting facts. This includes test driving cars and taking a tour of Volkswagen’s production. For those who are not quite so keen on cars, we offer Phaeno on this trip to Wolfsburg, too. There is a plethora of amazing things to get your hands on here. For all those on this outing, food and drink will be served in the Ritz Carlton hotel.

Golf

Golf fans are also catered for - of course. There will be the now almost obligatory golf tournament for Senators.

On a boat into the Heide

A somewhat maritime outing takes place on a boat. We leave Braunschweig and travel along the canals of the region into the Heide (the heath). There, we will visit a well-known recreation area and enjoy fine cuisine on board.

The City of Braunschweig

The Lord Mayor will receive the Senate in the Town Hall. This marks the start of a somewhat different kind of city tour. Those who are interested in the history of our conference location can hear details which are not to be seen on a normal guided tour. We will test Braunschweig’s culinary specialties. In the region’s oldest brewery, the “Braunschweiger Mumme” is still manufactured today.

The way of modern day rail

A reserved train awaits our visitors at the railway station. It takes us to the nearby City of Salzgitter. In this region, characterised by its steel production, Europe’s most modern trains are built. Besides the production of these vehicles, we will hear fascinating and entertaining facts all to do with the world of railway.

Up, up and away

The Senators visit the Braunschweig research airport. There, there are series of interesting projects, fine food and a chance to take a flight. We will get to know the city and the region from up high. The European Conference from the air.

Voets Car-Ralley through the Harz Mountains

You want to get a feeling of what it is like to drive several different Volkswagen or Audi cars on a single day like for example a GTI, A 5, Q 5 Golf oder even a Porsche? The Voets-Rallye will give you this opportunity.
Starting at 2 p.m.in the afternoon you will be taking on car trip of about 160 km. This trip will last for about 4 hours and will take you to the Harz mountains and back to Braunschweig. The streets lead through a beautiful landscape. About every 20 km the drivers will change the cars so that everyone can experience several cars during the rallye.
Especially if you will have a chance to drive a Porsche this might be a feeling of acceleration and driving that you will never forget...and afterwards you will have big smile on your face!
