In his speech
NO LIMITS – How do I reach my goal
Joey Kelly gives an impressive description of his path of life as an entrepreneur and endurance athlete. He pursues this path with endurance, goals, will and passion.
So far, he has finished over 40 marathons, more than 30 ultramarathons, 9 desert runs, the bicycle race “Race Across America” from the east coast to the west coast of the USA three times, over 100 marathons, ultramarathons and ironman competitions in total, as well as more than 100 half-marathons, short distance triathlons and short distance competitions. To date, he holds the record with 8 IronMan triathlons within one year.
In September 2010, Joey Kelly crossed Germany from Wilhelmshaven to the Zugspitze in 17 days and 23 hours on foot. On his 900-km-long journey – at least 50 km per day – without money, he ate only what nature offered him.
In the winter of 2010/2011, he completed the competition “Race to the South Pole” in the German team with Markus Lanz. In 100 days, they travelled 400 km in temperatures lower than -40 degrees 100 years after the legendary competition between Scott and Amundsen.
In 2011, he returned to the Badwater Run, one of the hardest ultramarathons worldwide, after ten years to improve his previous running time of 55:08 hours to fewer than 48 hours for a distance of over 217 km. He reached this goal with 43:22 hours this year.
It all started with a bet…Endurance sports as a balance to his work with the legendary Kelly Family, which celebrated great musical success in the nineties, taught him to reach his goals with discipline, ambition and focus and to set himself new goals with a view to the future.
